lots of stuff
« on: April 27, 2013, 03:59:30 pm »
Today was a great day in the shop. I had the over head door open and my brother and I were busy planing cedar when a guy came over to my shop. He asked if I would be interested in a table saw. He said that I could have it if I came and picked it up. He told me it was a craftsman saw and had not been used in years but it did work. I thought this would be a good saw for my brother. When we arrived to pick it up I saw was a 2hp direct drive 10inch cast iron top saw. It purred like brand new. He could not find the rip fence for it so we helped him look for it. When we left (without the rip fence) we had the table saw, 16 inch scroll saw, bench top sander, several clamps and a few assorted tools.........ALL FREE. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
It is great when you find a gift horse but it is even better when it finds you! :D :D ;)

He did not want anything and I don't think he has the mind set to enjoy hand made crafts. He said that his father-inlaw made crafts and showed me a item that he made. He stated that the house was full of this crap and did not care for it.............with some people it is not worth the time to please them....

Good for you King. The only time I ever got free tools was when my favourite Uncle passed away. For all the tools in my shop, I'd give away to have him back.

The only tools I kept out of all of them was 4 clamps. 1 suregrip and a old bar clamp and 2 3/4 pony clamps.
I gave the table saw and the sander to my brother and the scrollsaw to a friend of mine since my brother did not want it. My friend was tickled to get it. He had been looking for one for awhile. When he came over I asked him if he brought his wallet. He told me it didn'tn have much in after the trip out of town this weekend. I showed him what I had and I told him that I would take what I paid for it.
I then told him the story behind my find and he was stunned.
I like to spread my good fortune around when possible it warms the cockles of my heart. What ever that means ;D ;D

My gosh King, I've been using that saying for years, "Warms the cockles of my heart".
