S.O.D. project
« on: January 26, 2013, 05:13:55 am »
If people ask me what I do on my scroll saw I say I make "a piece of wood"
So long time ago I promised a co worker that I would make a "piece of wood" for him.....
Guess he already forgot this, so to surprise him, I made him the logo of his Rock band.
the band is called "Suspension of Disbelieve."
about 5,5" in diameter and made it out of 1/2" Cherry with a glossy lacker finish.

was a "hard project" because I had to think all the time to go the right way, clockwise or counter clockwise, so the right parts would rise or lower just the right way.

That's one nice "piece of wood". I'm new here so I'll ask:
- did you slightly angle the blade so the raised pieces slide up and fill the kerf?
- Did you place fillers behind the raised parts or are they glued to the sunken parts (or both)?
- I don't see any pilot holes. How did you hide those?

Thanks.

Very nice piece of work there. Those angle can be tricky. I too looked for blade entry holes and found none. Well done.
