Hello joey
There are different categories you can enter
(so you'd need to figure out which one or ones you'd be intereted in entering)

This video shows some of the categories
Steve Good was there in 08 here is a video of some the ribbon winners

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Turning your tablesaw into a work table
« on: January 25, 2012, 08:03:15 am »
Here's a little tip for those of us that have working space limits in our workshops.
if you have a tablesaw in your shop, you can turn it into a work table by  taking a piece of 3/4" plywood, and some 1x and make a removable top.

The 1x will be used to frame the sides
figure out where you can add the 1x sides to your saw ( you'll need one on each side of the table top.)

make sure you when you measure for your table top to allow extra for the 1x sides.if your going to make it to fit just the saws top.

I used a decking type screw to attach the sides and counter sunk the head into the table top

This is the locations I placed the sides on my removeable table top, for my particular tablesaw.

Since I plane and sand all of my own wood I don't always get the same or consistent thickness so I will trace the thickness on the pattern instead of measuring.

I've found the same true on some plywoods over the years (thickness may vary some when purchasing from different suppliers) learned to buy enough wood to complete each project from same supplier.

I agree with Jason on this
The grease is probably becoming to thick when cold
and causing it to bind.
(Being you stated once it warms up it runs fine)

The motor has bushings in the ends of the case that the armature shaft rides in, so heating the motor case probably doesn't get enough of the heat to the bushings and this is probably why you have to wait  for the room to warm before motor runs.
There are also other bushings and perhaps bearings in the arm mechanism that maybe having the thickening of grease problem also.

If it was something more mechanical causing it,  seems like the cold temperature shouldn't make a difference rather it runs or not.

I would just let the workshop come upto temp first before trying to work.

hope this helps

I made some simple angel ornaments (from a pattern in one of my ornament books) and gave them to the grandkids teacher for them to decorate and take home.
from what the grandkids told me they enjoyed decorating them alot.

Here's a video I posted a while back on the whirligigs
He uses hand tools to build them, just have to think in terms of scrollsawing them.  ;)

All the idea's sound great!d

I like the adjustable stand idea, which would allow you raise or lower the saw to any height you wanted (from standing position to sitting in any chair you choose).

Heck lets ad a built in adjustable & detachable magnifier

Just watched this tv program on scrollsawing, they where making outdoor projects (signs, birdhouses).
What I found interesting was that they where using 50yr. clear silicone caulk to attach their scrollsawn letters, designs to their projects, also used it to attach the roof on the birdhouses they built.
Seems like a good idea for attaching items used out in the weather.
