Nice work !!! Looks like it's from his early days as Rowdy Yates in Rawhide that ran from 1959 to 1965.I'm a big fan,Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Mickey, I had the same thought about looking like Yates in the Rawhide series.

Thanks to all for the positive comments, I have since cut a couple more projects, but managed to put them in the mail before I remembered to take a photo.  Ah well, the folks will hopefully enjoy them

May everyone's day go well and the weekend treat us all nicely.

The finished product looks like the man so that means the pattern and your cutting were both well done. I really like it!

The Walnut frame sets it off well.

That being said it seems a bit formal and stiff to this old westerner. You might consider something more rustic and relaxed if you do more western themed work. I've had good luck with strips from old weathered barn wood. Look around and see what is available. Sometimes you can get salvage from tear downs of old buildings. I hope you take the criticism in the way it was intended - - CONSTRUCTIVE!
And suggesting other options.

THANKS Gabby.  I have several really old boards in the supply section (sitting outside) and never even thought to use one.  Those boards came from a VERY weathered barn on the SD prairie, believed to have been built in the 1900's.

Thanks for the constructive idea, and it was well received.  Guess I got in a hurry and wanted to get it finished, kinda like the green MC.   :D
