Title: My first big project
Post by: ACNeilson on February 06, 2011, 02:48:33 am
It wasn't a large physical cut, but a friend of mine and I cut out over the course of 5 days around 150 fairies.
These were 8-10 inches tall and about 1/4 in thick.  There were 5 different body designs. We basically mass produced these to sell anywhere we could.  I still don't think my friend has made any money off of them and it has been a year. lol.
We cut them out and then glued on glitter dresses. Or not. Then we painted faces and hair and finally attached wings that we cut out of screen and colored.  pics are attached.

For blades, we started out with stock harbor freight 20tpi pinned blades and then switched over to some Vermont American spirals that worked wonders.

EDIT:  What the pictures show are just a very small portion of my porch.  The rest of my porch was covered in fairies as well.

looks nice, a lot of work you did there.
I like the details: a beer bottle next to the saw  ::)

They are a thing of beauty my friend.
They should have sold that is a shame.

I love the layout of your shop Ban saw in front of the dart board (at least by the way the pic was takin) how you have all the paints set up in a rack tool boxes I'm sure that have drill bits and other tools you may need in them for scrolling and all the Fairies that seems like alot of work for them to not sell has your friend tried an Online Auction place yet they may sell there but good job on all the cutting...

That was just a small supply paint station. We had an entire table for the body decoration. We also had an outside table for the wing cutouts, gluing and glittering and also another table just for features and hair.
mostly on the back porch though.
The dart board never got used since we were ALWAYS scrolling

Unless I have a proven seller.  I never do more than 2-3 of an item.  That was a heck of a lot of work and you did a nice, job sorry you still have them.
