Has anyone ever done the Palm Sunday pattern out of the Scroller Catalog? if so any advice. I have decided to do it for our church. I'm ordering the pattern next week. It has over 400 pieces. Just trying to decide which size the small which is 48" long or the large that is 80". Both have the same about of pieces.
Thanks for the advice in advance

Wow, that is a ambitious undertaking! Can't wait to see pictures. Size, might depend on where the church would place it. Might ask the minister, or an official that would be deciding where it would be displayed.
-
i already know where it would go in the church

Look forward to seeing that Brian, they will need strong mounting bolts for that! ;)

I just received the pattern yesterday from Scroller Online, I decided to do the large one which is 35"x80" and 481 pieces. Let me know if anyone is interested in seeing progress photos. I normally take several photos through the process so that I can go back and look at them to help see issues that arise. Plan on starting this week.
Merry Christmas

First round of progress photos. I actually was able to start working on this on Christmas Eve. I'm on vacation till after New Years and will be spending most of my time in my shop cutting the pieces & parts. Shaped a little but sense cutting takes the longest, trying to cut as much as I can before going back to work.

Milestone reached this weekend. piece is 100% cut less the frame. I'll make the frame after the piece is shaped & assembled

I haven't posted any photos in awhile, but I wanted to let everyone know where this project stands. It is completely cut, shaped and as of last night completely glued together. I have to clean up the edges a little bit and glue it to the backer. I bought the lumber I am using for the frame and will be making the frame this weekend and hope to be applying finishes next week. ALMOST DONE. A few members of my church saw if right around the time I was finishing up with shaping and they were extremely taken back with the way it looked. They stared at it for over an hour. 10 people in my shop at one time with that large of a piece was a site to see sense my shop is fairly small.
Next post on this will be the finished piece on the Brag Forum.
Thanks for all the great comments & the encouragement to do this piece.
