Toy Makers / Re: Toymakingplans.com
« on: January 11, 2019, 06:52:20 pm »
I know this is an old thread, but thought I’d give my opinion.  I have purchased a rocking horse plan, numerous toy cars and recently bought the 12 pack of various toys form toymakingplans.com  I’m fairly new to wood working (less than 2 years) and new to using a Scrollsaw (3 months).  I’ve had great success with the plans from this company.  In fact, making the toys is what led me to buying a Scrollsaw and then finding Steve’s website and this community!

I had some questions about the rocking horse plan and emailed them. They replied back within hours and sent me a link to a video that answered my questions.  I recommend their plans.

I’m currently working on several airplanes and the Noah’s Ark from toymakingplans.com. The Noah’s Ark is definitely challenging my skills!

I don’t have any experience with the Jet. I purchase the DW about 3 months ago and love it.  I’m not having any of these issues others have mentioned.

I purchased the saw, table and light (as a package). The light is a joke. It’s a warm yellow that doesn’ t help. You definitely need a different bulb or an entirely different light. I purchased a magnifying glass with light to replace it.  The stand is good.

Ask Steve a question. / Stacked Ring Baskest
« on: January 09, 2019, 07:32:49 am »
First,  I’ve been in scroll sawing for about three months and have used your advice, tips and patterns extensively. Thank you! I’m going to try to make the stacked ring basket (that you posted today).  This will be a challenge for my skill level, especially the top ring with clover leafs.

I’ve been looking for something to make my wife for Valentine’s Day. Do you think you could design a similar basket with hearts instead of clovers? Or will you be issuing some plans for Valentine’s Day soon? (The sooner the better for me as it may take me several tries!)  I have purchased your pattern booklet so I am aware of the other Valentine patterns.

Steve, again, I wish to thank you for all of the wisdom you have given to me! I also wish to thank all of the forum members that have contributed here. I have read through many posts and learned many things from you all. Thank you!
