Here is the newest video. I show the technique that I learned from people on here of maintaining your table tops and prevent rust. If you are a newbie, I hope this helps you. I know it helped me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfMjseYA8GQ&feature=c4-overview&list=UULAxz24dFceU8bIyUf_SQDw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfMjseYA8GQ&feature=c4-overview&list=UULAxz24dFceU8bIyUf_SQDw)

Good one boys.
I find the wax also make the table more slick so it's easier to move the workpiece around.

Thanks, yeah I like that too.

Good job Dustin!
I'm an old tightwad, so I use whatever is at hand.
I sand my table and wipe it down then spray on some Silicone Lube to saturate the surface let it stand or rub it in, then wipe it dry with paper towels. Living in Oregon we do get a little humidity ;D and this seems to work for me.
And it does make the surface slicker to reduce the friction.
Some say not to use it because it will get on your wood and screw up the finish when you go to stain and seal it.
I haven't had a problem with it, perhaps because I wipe it DRY after application.
I'm going to have to break down and get some real wax and give it a try. LOL

Thanks, now that I have more than just the scroll saw, keeping up on the table tops of the other machines doesn't get done as much as it should. From either pure laziness or being forgetful. :)
