Question on saving from Inkscape
« on: July 03, 2010, 07:14:17 am »
Hi everybody,
I have been fiddling around in Inkscape, have one problem though, when trying to save it will only save svg, which my pc will not open unless I go back to Inkscape. Tried to save it as pdf but then comes up with a message that information can be lost. Any ideas. Please don't refer me to a video on this, as my soundcard is bust and am saving for a new one, that adds to my frustration, as I am sure it will proberly be on Scroll Saw Village, but not being able to hear what is said does not really help.

By saving it as a pdf or a png you will lose the abiliity to make changes and you will lose some quality/detail. It usually is not a problem, you might not even notice. I would save it as an svg first, then use the Save As feature to save it as a pdf or png. A png can be opened by Windows  8)
