It is not really that hard to do. I think that Steve has a tute on his video section on how to make a vase.
I does require allot of sanding and you will use every sander and grit of paper you own, not to mention time. It is surprising how little wood is required unless you get really fancy and big or use glue-ups on your blank like the one on the right.....
