Does anyone know GIMP 2.6
« on: October 05, 2010, 09:06:31 pm »
I am using the Video tutorials by ScrollsawVillage and I am having a problem with Lession 5--The Base Pattern.

Prior to this lesson, I created a filed called "Dog.xcf"
When I open it in lesson 5, I have the Tool Pallet, the picture picture and the Layer pallet showing. The Layer pallet contains one layer named "Background" and a small icon of the photo. IT'S IN COLOR.

I then duplicated that layer and renamed it "bw" I clicked on the menu: Colors>Desaturate>Luminosity>OK. This changed it to a black and white picture.

When I went back to the Layer pallet, no matter what layer I clicked on, all layers were the same--that is, the black and white that I created from the previous step.

I can't see what I am doing wrong. Please help.
