General Scroll Saw Talk / optiical illusion
« on: October 12, 2015, 06:53:09 pm »
I want to thank everyone for your advice. We know not to watch behind the blade to do the impossible straight line. I noticed something If you are sitting at your saw and your belly button is in line with the blade and you are cutting a straight line that if you close one eye the optical illusion behind the blade disappears.

General Scroll Saw Talk / JUST A FUNNY
« on: September 28, 2015, 05:48:40 pm »
J HAVE A FRIEND NAMED DUSTY HE'S A CARPENTER. EVERY TIME HE COMES OVER HE SAYS THE SCROLL SAW IS THE BASTERED CHILD OF THE SAW WORLD. ITS A CROSS BETWEEN A COPEING SAW AND A SEWING MACHINE. WELL THAT SOUNDED LIKE A GOOD DESCRIPTION. SO I JUST DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING. DUSTY COMES OVER AND SAID HE HAD AN IDEA ABOUT A DRAWER PULL AND COULD I MAKE IT FOR HIM. I LOOK AT HIS DRAWING AND GIVE ME SOMETIME AND I WILL SEE IF I CAN BUT THERES APROBLEM. I AM WILLING TO TRY, BUT MY SCROLL SAW MIGHT NOT. YOU HAVE HURT HIS FEELINGS CALLING HIM A BASTERED. YOU WILL HAVE TO SAY YOUR SORRY TO IT. BUT THAT SAW IS AN IN ADAMENT OBJECT. NO IT CAN ROLL AROUND  ITS ON WHEELS AND I FLIP THE ON SWITCH SEE HE'S MOVING. HE SAID I'M SORRY. I FIGURED THE PIECE OUT AND MADE IT 3 DAYS LATER AND KEPT HIM WAITING THE REST OF THE MONTH.

General Scroll Saw Talk / cows and scroll saws
« on: August 17, 2015, 09:33:41 am »
When you are putting the first blade on your first scroll saw it's kinda like hand milking you first cow. You can look under there all you want, but eventually you have to reach and go for it.

The Coffee Shop / EYE DOC
« on: August 10, 2015, 12:59:09 pm »
WELL THE OTHER DAY I WOKE UP TO KNATS ALL OVER THE PLACE. SPRAYED AND SPRAYED GRABBED THE TRASH WENT TO THROW IT A WAY. THE WIND WAS BLOWING AND THE NATS WERE STILL WITH ME. WENT TO THE EYE DOCK. AFTER A BUNCH OF TESTS AND AFTER THE DOC WALKS IN TO THE ROOM WITH AN ASSISTANT. MS BRISTOW THEY ARE JUST FLOATERS. BUT I HAVE SOME BAD NEWS, YOUR EYES ARE RIGHT ON THE BOADER OF HAVEING YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE TAKEN AWAY. YOU SHOULD BE HAVEING PROBLEMS DRIVING. NO NOT HAVING ANY PROBLEMS, I DRIVE PRETTY SLOW. DOC SAYS THEN YOU ARE HAVING DRIVING PROBLEMS. NO MY DRIVERS ED TEACHER SAID NEVER DRIVE SO FAST THAT YOU CAN'T THINK YOUR WAY OUT OF A PROBLEM. WELL THE PAST 10 YEARS MY THINKING DF AWAY OUT OF A PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE GETTING SLOWER, AND SLOWER. WELL THE ASSISANT GOT WHAT IS SAID BUT I JUST ABOUT HAD TO TRANSLATE IT TO THE DOC.  THIS MAY MAKE ME SOUND STUPID BUT 7 PEOPLE OVER THE YEARS SEEM TO THINK I NEEDED A NEW CAR. IT ALSO GOT ME OUT OF A TICKET FOR DRIVING TO SLOW

Pattern Requests. / Clock Request
« on: April 29, 2010, 08:16:06 am »
I am wanting a clock designed like Karen made and Steve posted on the 17th.
I need the words "I keep cutting and its still to shor."With the t and the period on separate pieces of wood. So it can be hung on twine underneath.

This a friends favorite saying when a goof is made in measuring. I would like to give it to him for Christmas.

Thanks

I just got a new scroll saw after 8 yrs of not having one. It's a Dewalt 788.
It is now going to the shop the blade mounts are off and I'm going thru with drawl. I may have to get a coping saw to servive till it gets back.

Yes I know I type in Texan.
