Hi Peoples....  Been a while since I posted a craft.  Have cut MANY.  Anyway I am in the beginning

of cutting Shiela Landry's Name Plaques.  I just LOVE the way they look.  Even my Wife said when

I showed her this one THEY WILL SELL GREAT.  Yea!  Did anyone watch Charles Dearing youtube

of cutting another word and of course using the SPIRAL blade.  Made it look SO, SO EASY.

Here is my First Plaque.  And as always.  Any comments are always welcome .......Danny  :+}

P.S.  Was cut using 1/4 BB stacked 2 up.  Also have a 1/8bb backer....

The Coffee Shop / Remember my post concerning ....Hornet Nest.... ?
« on: December 06, 2014, 01:52:02 pm »
Well for all that remember.  It hung around 30 foot up in the Maple tree during the summer until LAST WEEK.
    Never did see any more than a hand full of them flying around.  Never bothered anything.
Someone here said that when it got COLD they would blast the top off when they departed.
   Well that DID HAPPEN.  Found it laying on the ground.  Actually I call it the TOP, but hanging there it would be bottom.
Anyway the other part dropped.  Here is pictures of it at present.    Danny  :+}

Don't think TOYMAKER plans are that easy to understand.  If it weren't for all the
their Colorful Pictures I might not of finished it.  Someone made a statement to
watch real careful the SIZE of each piece as compared to their PATTERN.  Yepper!
Lots of differences.  Anyway it is finished and I REALLY, REALLY LIKE IT.
           Watcha think?            Danny  :+}

Pattern Requests. / Plaque pattern would be Great.... :+}
« on: November 14, 2014, 02:09:13 pm »
Hey everyone and especially our Wonderful Designers.  My Son In Laws Sister stopped by my Booth this past weekend and asked if I would make her a Special Plaque.  Another Scroller had cut one, but she said I could Do So Much Better.  Blush!  The Words are....

Friendship is One Soul in Two Bodies.  The other persons version was around 7" X 10".  There was a Fancy Scroll pattern on Top and Bottom with the words in the middle.  So with this information I would Graciously ask for a Pattern.  I feel that another design pattern size wouldn't make any difference to her.                Thank You in Advance................Danny  :+}

General Scroll Saw Talk / My First..and..Only Craft Show is Over.... :+}
« on: November 11, 2014, 07:14:42 pm »
Hey everyone....  Well my Wife and I attended our only Craft Show in Fayetteville, Tennessee this past weekend.   I feel Blessed that the people bought $600.00 worth of my Scroll Saw crafts.  This was our FIFTH show.  Learned from experience there that 80% of the people that stop by have the feeling of being in a FLEA MARKET.  Lots of compliments, but keep on walking.  It bothers me that MOST will pick up the craft and look and then just sit it back down!!  Am used to this procedure.  This is what I KNEW, but will say LEARNED from this year.  Craft a project that is Eye Catching and CHEAP.  Seems most EVERYONE will buy for $5.00 or LESS.   And make LOTS.
My Ornaments.  5 different styles.  Cut from 4 to 8 of each pattern.  Did the works with the OIL/STAIN and VARNISH.  Had a TOTAL of 280....Yep....280....  And I brought back ....FOUR....  And PRICED each for a BUCK.  NONE of my Ornaments were that complicated to cut.                     Well just wanted to Yack and tell ya's....................................Danny  :+}

Lol
This is funny! Must read. Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married. She was admired for sweetness and kindness to all. One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea. As he sat facing her old pump organ, the young minister noticed a cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water. In the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and he could no longer resist. "Miss Beatrice", he said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this?" pointing to the bowl. "Oh, yes" she replied, "isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter!" The pastor fainted.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Scrolling and Finishing.... :+}

Been a while since I last posted a Thought, but have been wondering about HOW it is that you all deal with this.
Long story short....I really think the end result of a project is to have a Shine to the wood.  To me meaning Lacquer or Poly or even tried the cheap store bought sprays.  The COST of what I call The Better here is $8 plus tax.  Doesn't take long before each can is finished.  I always give each piece 3 to 4 coats.  Always comes out looking Great.  Has anyone messed with a concoction mixture like our famous 50/50 spirits n BLO that could have a mixture of POLY and something.   Dip in in and let dry with a bit of wiping and have a built in so so shine?

Anyway I would Love to read others stories about this subject..................Thanks...............................Danny  :+}

The Coffee Shop / A Strange Object in my Tree....??....
« on: August 05, 2014, 12:29:48 pm »
I noticed this up in the branches last week.  Just thought it was a gray paper plate that blew there and lodged..BUT..

Don't think this is the case now.

Here is the Best pictures I could take.              DOES ANYONE REGONIZE IT?

Did watch it for many minutes and the only thing I seem was a FLYING OBJECT around it.  Thought it could be

a Bee Hive, but seems there would be LOTS of bees present at all times.

Hey....Could it be from Outer Space?                              Thanks for your Input.............Danny  :+}

IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO BASICALLY ELIMINATE ANY SPAM?  Thanks for your help....  Danny  :+}

Computer questions / Updating.... :+(
« on: July 12, 2014, 01:13:57 pm »
Everyday and for around a couple weeks now....In the bottom right corner occasionally it will show programs such as SKYPE, JAVA, and a couple others.  Always says in the top that IT NEEDS TO BE UPDATED.  So I click on UPDATE and the Virus, Mal-aware protection I am using ((WEBROOT)) ALWAYS....ALWAYS Pops up saying THREAT detected.  Won't let me "X" out, so I just have always clicked on start treat removal.  Takes minutes and all is back to normal.  Anyone recognize this problem?  Or what might I do about it?
Thanks in Advance....................Danny  :+}

General Scroll Saw Talk / ROUND FLORESCENT BULB
« on: July 07, 2014, 06:21:06 pm »
Ok ya'll's I need some advice....  First....Has anyone gotten used to using a certain light fixture for say over 6 years and all of a sudden the bulb burns out and you Mickey Mouse another light source?  Talking about a Adjustable Scroll Saw light attached to the Saw.    Well I shall report that the difference is Whierd!  Just not the same SCROLLING as was.  Like a Learning Curve all over.
Funny huh....  ?    Anyway...................

Can anyone offer me advice on buying a replacement bulb?  The bulb is 8 inches ROUND and the marking label says it is a PHILIPS FCL-22W.  The light fixture that attaches to the saw is SOLID WHITE and has NO MARKINGS WHAT SO EVER as to who manufactured it.  Hey its a 1998 model.

I have GOOGLED the subject with no findings.

Thanks for any help...............Danny  :+}
