so just out of curiosity where do you all get your blades and what brands do you like? i'm sure this has been asked before but i'm new to the forum .
-
I use Flying Dutchman branded blades. I used to get them from Mike but he has since passed but before he did he sold everything to the Wooden Teddybear. You can still order from mikesworkshop.com.

I use Flying Dutchman blades from Mikes Workshop. I primarily use the FD-UR blades, #1,#3,#5. I keep a few #7's for wood thicker than 3/4"which I rarely use.
-
I also use FD-UR blades from Mike's Workshop (mikesworkshop.com). I've cut quite a few compound ornaments from 2" x 2" poplar stock for this year and found that #7 Polar blades (same source) have done a great job without any burning.

I use Flying Dutchman blades for doing inlay. #5
I use #7 precision ground blades for cutting thicker wood for toys. I get my blades from sloans.

I use Olson's #5, #7 and #9. I buy them from Sloan's Woodshop or Seyco. I've found these blades to have the sharpest edges, they stay sharp very long and the finished cut is almost polished! I never need to sand the inside of my cuts. I have also tryed the O;son Mach speed, they are as sharp as the PGT but do not last half as long as the PGTs.
I'm sold to the PGTs
