Paint.net - New & Free
« on: July 14, 2010, 02:58:40 pm »
I've read a number of posts here about using Gimp, other programs, so thought you might like to know about one that got a review in PC World today.  I haven't used it, but if you're curious, go to this web site.  It'll tell you all about it: http://www.pcworld.com/article/200186/get_started_with_paintnet.html?tk=nl_dfx_h_cbintro

I have used Paint.net for quite a while now and like it, pretty simple to use but don't expect all the bells and whistles in a free download.
Just downloaded gimp today and haven't decided about it yet.

There are a lot of tutorials out there for Gimp and it is one powerful program...

I have a set of tutorials I bought on DVD's and have barely scratched the surface!

I have been usinf paint.net for years. I like it alot for simple things. It reminds me of photoshop from about 10 years ago when I was in high school. So it is missing some of the new bells and wistles that newer programs, but it is free. One of these days I want to try gimp, but I'm stuck in a rut.

I have tried Gimp and a few of the other free ones. But you can't beat Photoshop. I have been using it for years and wouldn't change.  :)
