Do you use Firefox?  If so, get an extension called Download Helper.  It will add a little icon in your tool bar. Start the video, then click stop, then click on the arrow next to the icon and download to a location of your choice.  Another cool thing about the program, it has a list of just about every video site.

YES...... I sure do use firefox...... I have the plug in "Easy YouTube video downloader" ..... worked great on those until recently ..... now flv doesn't have sound anymore....(still works if I download in a couple other formats) and of course I could never get videos from other sites.
Will try your suggestion
Thanks
Juvy

Ok...... I just installed the video downloader..... scared the daylights out of me because FF wouldn't open anymore.... but was ok after restarting the computer. Went to the woodright link and am now downloading the video..... it didn't give a choice of format tho..... am I missing something? Also don't know yet if it will have sound........ seems to be VERY slow going.... nothing showing on the green bar in downloads yet even tho it says it's downloading.......
keep fingers crossed.....

I just tried it, and it worked for me.  I also use VLC Player - http://www.videolan.org/vlc/  What are you using to watch the video?

I used windows media player with the K-lite codec pack...... but downloaded the Applian FLV player last night.... that works.... it plays the sound on the flvs! Yeahhhhhhh.....
Now I just have to figure out which converter to use and what format will work in regular DVD players.... then I can suprise all the guys at our workshop. Was always telling them about the Woodwright Show. My kids used to watch that when they were little... loved it more then any of the cartoons!

The converter is built in to download helper, you just need to install converthelper http://www.downloadhelper.net/install-converter.php - once installed, use the drop down arrow you used to save the video - you will see a link download and convert - it has all types of formats, for DVD I think you will want to use Mpeg4

Thank you Steven....... I did install the converter and downloaded another of the shows...... in PAL.... ready to put on DVD. Worked great!!!!!! Much better then watching it on the comp..... I can take it to the workshop and show the guys there. Don't think anyone here in Australia's seen the Woodwright Show yet.

Thanks again

Download helper says you can't watch and save at the same time.  Have to back out of it after clicking on the box.  The converter was an extra download and is like a tool bar down on the bottom of the screen.
