Yep, I'm a newbie to scroll sawing. I've had a scroll saw for a few months and have enjoyed it tremendously when I can get on it. My workshop is a small shed that is only 9 by 15 feet. Tight quarters to operate in but it works for me.
I have obtained numerous magazines of Creative Woodworks Crafts from my Brother-In-Law a few weeks ago and wow but wow is there a lot of great patterns in each issue. I had a cheap scroll saw but I also obtained a better scroll saw through a purchase agreement with my Brother-In-Law. He can no longer use his due to deteriorating health.
I was searching for a club in my area but it seems scroll sawing must be a dying hobby. I even searched for a subscription to a scroll sawing magazine but none were to be found. If anyone knows of any I would appreciate hearing from you.
Any others in my area I would love to meet and possibly share ideas and patterns.
Until then, Happy Scrolling
Bob

Welcome aboard, scrolling is great fun I only scroll to relax not sell, but there are those that make money while having fun.
My shop is 12 x 14 but I have a full complement of tools. I have everything on wheels that is what you need to do with a small shop.

Howdy Julia! I didn't know they still published that magazine. I'll have to try to find it online.

Hey Bob, welcome! Here is the link for the magazine Julie is referring to:
http://www.scrollsawer.com/
It is the only magazine I know of for the scroller.
Meanwhile take a look at these sites as well (some are paid patterns, some have free - some have both. ALL are helpful)
Sue Mey http://www.scrollsawartist.com/
Sheila Landry Designs http://www.sheilalandrydesigns.com/
Steve Good http://www.scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/
Russ Claridy http://www.simplywoodencreations.com/
And if you want a database for the Creative Woodworks and Crafts here is a link for a database for the issues I have:

Have fun with the saw!
