I've been playing with woodworking for about fifteen years and picked up my first scroll saw last week. A factory re-manufactured Ryobi for $55. I didn't want to make a huge investment in a saw and then find out it wasn't for me. I've been watching YouTube videos and reading web sites for a couple months to get to know the hobby as best I could before jumping in.
I ordered some a blade assortment from Flying Dutchman to get me started. Yesterday my wife printed plans for rats. Must be a Halloween theme. :o
I?m looking forward to learning much from this group.

Welcome to the club. I think you'll find scrolling very enjoyable. I'm guessing it won't be long before you'll see the advantage of throwing a few more bucks into getting a better saw. Made all the difference in the world for me.
