Toy Makers / Clown Drop for Grandson - Steve Good Pattern
« on: October 03, 2015, 07:08:26 pm »
Good Day Folks!

Project Completed!  I am going to make another one, that he can take home with him.  I am going to add his name going down the board, and make a better clown on that one.  It makes me smile, how much this simple toy makes him laugh.

I also made a quick video of Aiden enjoying his new toy.  Not sure how to embed the video, so I provided a link below

Pattern Requests. / For Friends Church
« on: October 25, 2011, 05:47:17 pm »
Good Day Folks!

Was wondering, if one of you kind folks can help me make a pattern with the attached picture.  Not sure if it should be a portrait type, plaque, or another type.  Would like it to be a little bigger than the picture, since my skills at cutting smaller letters are not on par yet. This is for my Co-Workers church, he is always very helpful, to the community, and I though i would be a nice jester.

Thanks in advance,

Steven

General Scroll Saw Talk / Employee of the Month Pattern
« on: October 03, 2011, 06:35:08 pm »
Good Day Folks!

It's been awhile since I hung out here.  Finally have gotten settled in the new house, and the climate controlled basement workshop squared away.  I have  a question about the employee of the month pattern, how does one cut those small letters out in the middle of the star? What blade size? Where to drill the pilot holes?

Thanks in advance, and hope all has been well,

Steven

General Scroll Saw Talk / Oak
« on: April 21, 2011, 05:01:25 pm »
Good Day Folks!

I am sure this has been asked before however.....  I picked up a few 1/2" thick oak "craft" boards to make some name plaques using Steve's awesome program.  The question I have is, should I use #5 or #7 SR Flying Dutchman blades?  I have the whole assortment of Flying Dutchman Blades, but if I remember correctly, these 2 maybe my best choice.  It's been awhile since, I have been able to be on the saw, due to the cold weather.  We are in the process of purchasing a new home, where I will finally have a dedicated shop in the basement, so I will be able to create projects all year round.

Thanks in advance,

Steven

Good Day Folks!

How many of you are Mac users?  I just made the switch, and I have to say I am loving it!  I been working with computers since 1983, and the last 15 years or so, have been Windohs.  I am actually having fun again, working with the built in apps, have sparked some creativity I never knew I had.

Good day Folks!

Just wanted to say thanks to Steve!  I was the winner of last months give-a-way.  I received the book, "Making Wooden baskets on your Scroll Saw".  Can't wait for the weather to get a little warmer, so I can get back in the shop.  I am going to make a candy dish, for my Sweeties Mom.

The Coffee Shop / Logging Book
« on: February 04, 2011, 04:06:24 pm »
Good day All!

I was doing some research for a model railroad project, and came across this free book, on Google Books. It's called "Logging: the principles and general methods of operation in the United States" by Ralph Clement Bryant. It appears to be some kinda of "handbook" for loggers back in the early days. Here is the link http://books.google.com/books?id=U6UJAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=Logging&hl=en&ei=_rBITZnPAcO88ga81vzFBg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCsQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false

Good Day Folks!

This is my latest Scroll Saw Project. It's a Volkswagen Emblem, I made for a co-worker. I didn't apply any finish to this project, I just left it natural.

Good Day Folks!

I put together a site to show my projects.http://www.wigwagworkshop.com/ - I still have a few tweaks to work out. I am looking for some help, on putting together a logo. I was thinking I could offer some sort of a gift card for any help in designing a logo for the site. The site is lacking content at the moment, but hope to get some more projects completed soon. Please feel free to submit some feedback, and comments. This my first attempt at putting together a website like this.

The Coffee Shop / Merry Christmas and a Thought
« on: December 24, 2010, 03:30:01 pm »
Merry Christmas All!

Some of you may know, that I hold a Amateur Radio License.  I get to talk to folks from all over the world on my Amateur Radio, and I have learned different things about their culture, beliefs, and other tidbits.  This is one of the things, I really like about the scroll saw hobby, I have met some wonderful folks, from other countries that enjoy the scroll saw hobby.  I really enjoy seeing posts from different parts of the world, and seeing their take on the hobby.  There are not many hobbies, where folks from all over the world, can come together, and  share their interest. And with that said, a scene , from one of my favorite Christmas shows, A Charlie Brown Christmas.

[a spotlight shines on Linus]
"And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, 'Fear not: for behold, I bring unto you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.' And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God, and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."
[Linus picks up his blanket and walks back towards Charlie Brown]

That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown
