Since the piece you are cutting is not intricate, 3/4 should work fine.

I put blue tape over the place on both the base and the item before staining.  That keeps the wood fresh and the glue penetrates it.  Good Luck

I use a Dewalt saw on it's stand too.  A couple years ago I bought the Sears adjustable stool and I just love it.  When I get tired, I can move it up or down to get a change.  It works nicely for me to have my hands even with my bent elbows when scrolling.  I put my feet on the cross bar of the stand and switch to a trash can on either side just for a change.

  Hi my name is Mark.I do some scrolling so does my wife. We also have 3 Carvewright machines we do custom projects.I l also do metal working with a couple of metal lathes and mills,making minature black powder cannons. We have a web site and are just getting started in selling our products both online and going to a few market day events. I'm retired so it keeps me busy and happy.
