Found this picture of a book page holder, got it on my chive app there are other pics of it, thought I would attempt to make it, its all free hand, if anybody can make a pattern for it would be great these would be a great cheap sale at a craft show. The measurements are 3 inches long hole is at 1 1/5, hole size should be about 5/8ths I used a forstner bit and about 1 1/5 wide, but with smaller hole it may be smaller width. Made out of BB scrap I had.

This is different and I like it. The creative use of our left over pieces of wood is great to see. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Ingenious. That would use up the scrap and sell well.

I made one of these a couple of weeks ago, but I had to drill the hole at about 30 degrees because of the way I hold the book. I didn't use it for long. It's a great idea but not as practical as it first seems, but it gave me an idea for a book holder on my treadmill.

great idea for a simple project to use up the offcuts of wood.

maybe sloop the top a little more.
had a pic in my Idea's box for things I want to make.
looks like this.
picture showed a point in the book to press the pages down i guess.
so I came up with this design.

Well I attempted a pattern for this thing, and got it down but can't print to scale its too big, I have it posted in the pattern request forum. I like both of those, will have to try cutting both and see how they work, this was just a something to do project.
I am also not getting email notifications on my post I reply too, sometimes they come about most times not.

The pattern you've made with the flat side would be ideal for the Kindle :D :D
happy scrolling

If you want to give it a try, spirithorse tried and when I go to print it either full sheet, or the smallest I can chose is a 3x5 index card and it still too big, last option I have is to open in gimp and zoom out till I get close the size I need and trace it off the computer screen then put back in printer and copy what I traced.

in pdf and different sizes....
hope this is OK for you?

The one at 90% looks about right, but will print that and compare it, maybe I need to try mine using the pdf to resize and see what I can come up with it. Being that its cold outside I can side in side and play around with it. I would like to eventually be able to do all this stuff my self rather than always asking for help.
