small shop contest!

Marshall's post on another topic got me thinking (I know, uh oh); who's got the smallest shop?

Before adding shelves, my shop was 8' by 10'.  Thus the name 8 by 10 Woodworking.

Winner gets bragging rights!

Bill ... you need to SPECIFY if that is in 'working' condition or as mine is now in 'compacted' condition!

I have to share a one car garage with the car so mine is all on wheels and is packed away in a corner when not being actively used! <BG>

I never really wanted to grow up....All I wanted was to be able to reach the cookie jar...and play with my DW 788

At home my shop is about 6'x14'. Although the table saw and jointer are outside in the shed.

At school, where I teach woodshop, I have something like 35'x35' with a 10'x10' storage room 10'x10' office and computer lab in one building and maybe 40'x80' (come to think of it I have never actually measured it) in the other building.

I think we should only count "working shops" but I think we need a judge now.

Okay, so I don't know how to do stuff like this.  :D  I'm too confused now.  I'm getting too old, I think.  52 today.

I think Mainewoods and I are going to get along, however.

You got me beat Bill. Mine is 9X13 with scrollsaw, drill press, band saw, 13" planer, bench sander, router/table, and miter saw. So space is well used. Adding a spindle sander soon. JJ

Thought mine was small but you lead Chahci. Mine is 5' x 5,5'. So anybody going to beat Chachi on this one. All my tools are stored in their boxes under tables beds etc. I have my scroll saw and workmate set up and that's all there is room for. But at least I got a dry and warm place to work.

I defiantly wouldn't win this one. My shop is 800 sq ft with a loft 400 sq ft for storage. I have a 12 X 28  aluminum roof, concrete floor overhang out front. A 6ft main opening (Two 3ft doors) and a rear 3ft door. Four widows looking out on my property. Lots of trees and birds. AC / Heat, High Def TV with HD Cable. VCR/DVD, Dolby Digital Surround Sound, CD/Stereo, Computer w/printer, High Speed Internet (40 Mbps), Frig for beer. Oh and did I mention dust collection system and lots, and lots of tools.  8)

Happy belated birthday Bill!  I'm 46 as of today!  Too funny!

"Workshop" also contains table saw, sliding compound miter saw, small drill press, workbench, shelving unit, chest freezer, christmas decoration storage, all while leaving enough open floor space for my scrollsaw on its stand and a kerosene heater.
