Title: spiral blade

I have heard you guys debating spiral blades and today I wished I had some to try, my first attempt at a cross with a lot of interecate cuts and it took me fore-ever going back and forewards to get good clean cuts and I can see that a spiral would have been the ansewer

I like spirals alot for inside cuts.  For some reason though they seem to be harder to move the wood toward me and cut then away from me.  I figured it would be the same either way.  Anyone know why?

I just guessing Janet, but it might be from the fact that most saws don't cut absolutely straight up & down.  there is a slight arc which means the top moves slightly forward on the down stroke when you are pushing toward the blade.  Conversly when pushing in from behind the center of the blade contacts the wood first.  At least it seems to make some sense. ::)
