Title: Dog Days of August!
Post by: GrayBeard on August 04, 2015, 02:45:10 pm
Typical Missouri in summer, Hot, Humid, Lazy......

But back at the saw and it feels damn good even if I have to keep cleaning and re-waxing the table due to sweaty forearms.
Can't believe how much I missed this tranquil time!
Something to be said for my 'happy pills' and a few hours and making some interesting holes in plain wood!

Hugz to all

;D Hey you old Fart! Good to see you here.  I have two solutions for sweaty arms (ask me how I know ;) )
Baby power on the table.  OR  Take an old pair of socks and cut the toes off, slip them over your forearms and no more slippage.

It's great to hear you complain about the heat and humidity.  :)

Judy, what I supposed to take the socks off my feet before I cut off the toes? Ouch!

The baby powder idea is a good one...it's great for so many things.  I used to use it to cure sweaty hands at piano performances.

;D  Hey Dan, yes I recommend  removing them before cutting, and you might want to wash them too, just saying ;D ;D

Maybe it's just me, but I refuse to use anything made of ground up babies! :o

GB it's great to see you back in action, we all missed you and I for one am looking forward to seeing pictures of your most recent cuttings. Go slow my friend, give yourself some ample time to heal. As for your sweaty arms, you need to get rid of those dancing girls you have hanging around your saw.
Gotcha.

Good to hear that you are back on your saw, just remember its one cut at a time, no rush.

Good to see the saw also helps you.
Just curious about the sweaty arms....
How is your saw/setup?
I don't support my arms when cutting, so just wondering how you sit there?

So, does that mean you don't eat Girl Scout cookies either?

But truthfully I think the Baby Powder would be good.....talk about hot, here in AZ we are having a record heat wave and our monsoon weather humidity. So, this summer it is not just a dry heat...but 117 degrees with humidity on top of that.  :P

Neither Girl Scout cookies, or especially Brownies! :o

As for the weather: it has only rained twice this summer in St Petersburg.  Once for 35 days and then again for 43!
