Are there other brands of flat sanders besides besides the Sand-Flee?

The Sand-Flee is a drum finishing sander.  Stockroom supply sells the components that can be used to build your own.

However, by the time you add a motor, etc. it would cost roughly
the same as a Sand-Flee.  Matthias Wandel has a set of free plans
on his website for a thickness sander that could probably be modified
to make a finishing sander.

This rather neat shop-built thickness sander showed up in Shopnotes issue #86

http://www.shopnotes.com/plans/thickness-sander/exploded/

It's powered off your table saw's motor...
