Brag Forum / A box
« on: March 23, 2011, 02:52:06 pm »
After making clocks for several years, the walls are getting crowded. Have discovered what fun boxes are, and so many great patterns! Made several during the cold weather, and am now starting to get finish on them.
This one is poplar and padauk, with Danish Oil and Deft spray lacquer. Gave it to my cardiologist today, after he said I was good to go!

Is there really any advantage to downloading 9? Keep getting messages about it.

Pattern Requests. / Mail Holder pattern
« on: November 21, 2010, 02:40:03 pm »
Made this some years ago and now can't find the pattern. Does anyone remember, maybe in one of the magazines. I looked at Rick's Victorian patterns and Peculiar Fretworks. Would like to make it again. I reduced the size before.
Thank you.

Ask Steve a question. / Sand Flee won't work for me
« on: November 12, 2010, 08:29:26 am »
Steve,
I use mostly 1/4" hardwood. It often warps a bit, so the Sandflee just isn't effective.

The Coffee Shop / EULA on old XP
« on: October 11, 2010, 11:09:05 am »
Tried to use Word on the 5-6 year old XP. Pop up box said am supposed to accept a EULA or it won't open.
Does that mean Microsoft is not longer supporting it or what? Any help will be appreciated.
Should I accept? Panic mode here!

Brag Forum / Birthday Present
« on: September 06, 2010, 04:12:19 pm »
Husband will be 83 this week. He has always had a love affair with steam engines. Even got to drive one a few years back. So, made this for him as a surprise. He is pleased.
It is a Dirk Beolman (sp?) pattern, oak, walnut, and maple. The clock case is filled with 2 circuit boards, a speaker, the clock work, batteries, and lots of wires.

Introduce Yourself. / New from KC MO

Have been scrolling for 8-10 years. Think the memory is going, but can still find my way home. This looks like a friendly group and Steve's site is interesting and helpful.
