Nicely done, he should really like that.  Are the decorations painted, decaled or woodburned?  I could not tell from the photo however I think the whole shelf came out great.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

Excellent work. I like the detailing of swords as the shelf support. You put in a lot of delicate work on this project and it shows. I think you would be good at fret work.
