Welcome "Jay" from South Korea to Steve's site.  I have been following Steve's site for a few years now and you are the first one that I have noticed indicating that you are a pattern designer but not a scroller.  Enjoythe community.

Welcome to Steve's site.   There are a lot of talented folks here who are willing to share what they have learned.  Suggestions for a newbie - - Many folks have posted how to videos on "You Tube", including Steve.  Those can be helpful.  See if you can find a woodworking / craft group in your area.  You can find helpful folks there and a watchful eye looking over your shoulder from someone who has walked the path before you can provide great counsel.  Use "good blades"  such as pegasus or flying dutchman.  Oh, and practice and enjoy.  Get up and move around every now and then - give everything a break - eyes, muscles, brain / tension.  Regards >> GLC in Cypress, Texas

Ask Steve a question. / Re: Looking at buying a saw and need some help
« on: November 07, 2019, 10:35:33 am »
I bought a Dewalt a couple of years ago and would say that they are a  good saw.  Way better than the low end priced saws and less than the higher priced saws.  My real disappointment with my Dewalt has been with the service at the Dewalt Service Center in Houston, Texas.  They work on a lot of Dewalt tools there, but I would bet dollars to donuts no one there is trained to service the Dewalt Scrollsaw.  There are a lot of moving parts in a scroll saw and things will eventually deteriorate / fail. It's a great past time - enjoy your scrolling.  Regards, GLC in Cypress, Texas
