General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: What got you started in this hobby?
« on: April 25, 2010, 02:42:34 am »
I was learning to woodturn at the time when my husband brought himself a scrollsaw, I ask how it worked and that was that.  I gave up woodturning and got hooked on the scrollsaw, since then my husband has never been on the scrollsaw and I've never been off it.  The one I started with was a 16" Delta and now I have a DeWalt (my Baby).  A friend said that I should not spend so much time on it otherwise I would soon get bored, that was about 11years ago and I'm not bored yet.

Those photos are great Cherie.  Thanks.  It just shows kids watch and remember.  Sometimes not what you want them to remember though. LOL  :)

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Organizing patterns
« on: April 23, 2010, 02:53:48 am »
I have lot and lots of patterns all in files in some sort of either alphabetical order or subject order.  No I'm organized you can bet that the pattern I'm looking for isn't filed and I can't find it.  LOL.

I have had ScrollSaw Woodworking & Crafts from the very first one but I must admit I don't like it as mush as I used to.  They have a lot of intarsia and I am not into that yet, maybe one day.  I don't know I just think they don't put in enough, oh I don't know, just ignore me.  Perhaps I'm too picky.  Lol

Have you ever taught your children/ gandchildren/niece or nephew to scroll?  How old where they and do they still do it?  Was it easy or was it aaagggggrrr.  Lol.  My grandson is only 7 but he is very interested in what I do but I'm not sure if he's too young. Any input is good.

Introduce Yourself. / Newbie

Hi Guys.  My name is Marg I am from Hastings Victoria Australia.  I have been scrolling for about 12 years and I mainly do portraits and clocks at the moment but I will give anything a go.  Except I have never tried Intarsia.  I guess I'm just a little bit scared of it,  :-\  I would like to try it one day though.
Congratulation Steve on the new site, I know it will be a great success.
