Here is my latest project from a modified and enlarged Steve Good pattern. Black Walnut, printed flag on card stock, Masonite backer, finshed in spray lacquer. About 12" in diameter.

Looks great! I didn't watch the video but I'm not a fan of spiral blades. I can't get the "split the line" accuracy that I want.

Yes, I was trying to get the sides of the cut colored and it also covered the Masonite at the bottom of the cuts, covering any glue that was visible at the bottom of the grooves.

A couple of Sue Mey turtles for a co-workers wife's Christmas presents. Cut from 1/8" Baltic Birch plywood glued to a Masonite backer. Spray painted them a dark green before removing the pattern to color the grooves.

The bigger items I use a branding iron with just my name, smaller items I initial with a wood burner.

The frame. back, and banners are 1/4", everything else is 1/8". The animals and foliage on the frame shimmed out an 1/8" also.
