Here are some pics of a mill I built so I could saw up some of my own lumber. Mostly from free stuff I acquired from different sources. The lumber for the frame and tracks was from shipping containers for machines that my employer was throwing away. A 18hp Briggs and Stratton  from a neighbors riding mower with a bad tranny. Bar and chain oil reservoir is an old propane tank. Using an ATV winch to raise and lower the blade. It has been a fun project and does a respectable job. It can cut logs up to 24" diameter, the big problem is that I have no heavy equipment to move them so I'll stick to the smaller and shorter logs.

Brag Forum / Toy Box
« on: January 25, 2015, 09:22:37 am »
Here is a toy box I made for my Grandson. Basically just a plywood box (for "boy" durability) with Cherry trim and woodburned the Mickey Mouse. It also has Donald Duck and Pluto on the ends.  Had to use a spiral blade for the name piece because of the length.

Here is a portrait I did for a co-worker to give to her boyfriend, a Danica Patrick fan. She wanted the neck of the fire suit to say "Go Davey" instead of "GoDaddy.com".

The Coffee Shop / Klingspor Woodworking
« on: November 24, 2014, 07:54:14 pm »
On the way down to my son's graduation from basic training at Fort Jackson, SC, I stopped at the Klingspor shop in Winston-Salem NC. If you ever get a chance to stop in one of their stores, do it, you won't regret it! They have just about everything a woodworker would want. I came home with a bandsaw blade, sandpaper for the sanding mop, a nice piece of Purple Heart, build your own chess set book, and a wildlife scrollsaw pattern book. My mother and wife were with me so I'm pretty sure there might be a few gifts from there for me come Christmas day.

Hello everyone, I was thinking about trying some portrait cutting. What is the best plywood for this and where would be a good place to get it? Thanks!
