Pattern Requests. / Re: Yamaha motor cycle

It may be a bit of a stretch , but I seem to recall that Yamaha had a paper toys page once upon a time. Might get some printable images there. Also there is a site called Space station 42 that does free paper printable models of all types, cars , bikes, airplanes and ships. There may be something usable there.

Thanks Russ , nice video. I think I will go with the clear and cut method (#3) as with my thick and clunky pinned blades it seems the most logical. I'm still new saw smell new to this and very much appreciate the clear concise demonstration style of your video presentation.

Hi Bob and welcome from another newbie. Mike from Canada here. Going by your handle , just guessing now , are we both looking forward to the 22nd of the month? ;D . basically if it goes fast I want to watch (wife won't let me participate any more ... wise of her I suppose). Bikes were my vice back in the day and my bones just won't heal like they did in the 70's. :'(

The Coffee Shop / Re: Beer

As a prostate cancer patient I have had to make some life changes. One doctor asked "do you drink?" . Why yes, yes I do. the usual follower to that would be that I must stop. Not so in my case as beer is a diuretic and helpful to my kidney function. Moderation was his suggestion . Works for me , as at my age , moderation at anything is as much as I can comfortably manage. Not so much when I was young though. In my late teens The Lord of The Rings was a big trivia thing in university pub nights. For more than a year I did not pay for my beer on pub night (I choose to think the beer helped). Conversely I don't remember a years worth of pub nights (beer at fault). Yin and Yang , how very 60's. ;D

Howdy Paul ,and no I am not from nor in the UK. I am however a member of the aforementioned UKWorkshop forum and can recommend it heartily. Great bunch of helpful and knowledgeable folks . Also good info on a wide range of other woody subjects. Drop in on the Hand Tool ward and say hi to the inmates , endlessly entertaining. That's where I mostly hang out under the same silly nom de plume.

Welcome Matt and good on you making things and selling them. Not as easy as it sounds and speaks well of your craftsmanship. Looking forward to seeing your stuff in upcoming posts.

Hi Andy and welcome. I hail from Ontario , Canada and must admit to some weather envy. Out to the shop up hear would mean some serious shovelling at the moment. Good to get the kids in on the fun isn't it? That is what started me down the path. I needed something that both me and my severely challenged daughter could do together during my stay at home poppa years , and this worked great!

From one newbie to another I bid you welcome Jack. I'm a touch north and west of you on the shores of Lake Huron , Ontario , Canada. I have not got any Guinness (just a guess , but an educated one) so I'll toast your arrival with a Honey Brown Ale if that's OK.

Truly the masters of frustration humor . If you are so inclined you may also want to check out youtube for some of the great stacks of silent and early movie clips available. My favorites are Buster Keaton ,Chaplin and Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Hours of fun. There are also a lot of Documentary style bits that shed light on what being an early Hollywood comic was like , informative and sometimes very funny as well.

Hi Badwolf , I'm also brand new to scrolling and the forum. I thought that I got a great deal on my saw , a second hand Delta 13 incher for 25 Canuck dollars , seems you trumped me amigo. Your nom de plume has touched on another of my obsessions by the way. Might you be a Doctor Who fan by any chance? Just idle curiosity amigo , as we Whovies are big on recognition with each other, secret squirrel type code words being high on the list. In fact if modesty had not precluded I was considering using Tardis master as my alias. Welcome and good scrolling.

Hi Chuck . Not to worry , I shall try to keep it dry enough to slip in under the radar so to speak. My wife claims that my humour is often so dry it blows away before being noticed.

Thank you Russ, Jim . I did take note of your Sabre in the original post Jim and very much like it. I was a member of the Air Cadets myself , and that means model aircraft in most mediums. I remember a Piper Cub in military trim in balsa and doped tissue paper by Guillow I believe. Rubber band motivated and had a devil of a time trimming it for level and straight, thing had a mind of it's own.The drawing you used looks like it might be the sort I'm after , have you a link? Do they have others? My present interest is in Schnieder Cup racers from the golden age of flight, airborne sculptures.
