...are cracking me up.

Has anyone made any of these patterns?   Using plywood or...?  Any thoughts or suggestions?

I'm currently in the middle of a bigger project but am looking forward to getting at some of these soon.

Referring to the Ichthys pattern, I need some more information please.

Being blonde, I missed the step after you find your angle.  Where do you start cutting on the outside of the pattern?  There's nothing shown like a starter point on the pattern.  It appears to go from find your angle to push out the cut and glue.  Would really appreciate the part in between...thanks.

I'm looking at all the fine faces in the members' mug shots.  "Guest" sure seems to be a common name. ???

...perhaps you can help me with by blower nozzle issue.  It ain't working.

Doesn't appear to be blowing any air through to clear the sawdust, and I'm too short winded to do it myself all the time.

I removed the nozzle from it's attachment on the arm and made sure it was clear by blowing air through it.  That worked.  But when I run the saw, there's no air coming out of where the nozzle is attached to the saw at all.  If this isn't making any sense, I will try for pictures in the next post.

Anyway, if you've had any issues with the air nozzle on a Hawk 220, did you purchase and install the loc-line upgrade kit?  Or any other suggestions?  Thanks.

For those of you that sell your items at craft shows, have you ever put any notices on your products about safety?

I'm looking at some of the puzzle pieces I've cut that have thin, fragile bits that could break off and be a choking hazard if a toddler ingested them.

Are there any laws or requirements about this or has anyone had a bad experience?

Ask Steve a question. / Switch Plate Surround
« on: September 24, 2015, 12:04:34 pm »
I liked several of the patterns of your latest post with the switch plate surrounds.  A couple questions...

How do they stay on the wall?  Do they fit under the switch plate somewhat or is there some glue/fastener involved?

Any recommendations to accomodate a double switch plate?

Thanks.

General Scroll Saw Talk / The disappearing pattern

This may be more of a pattern request, so mods may want to relocate this, but I am trying to find the pattern that Steve posted on his home page about a week ago.

Does anyone recall seeing a nativity scene with scriptural verses (I'm thinking Luke 2-For unto you is born this day...) written below it in a script-like font?

I have looked in new patterns and Christmas patterns and don't see it.  I hope someone else saw it or I'll be thinking I'm losing it.  If anyone knows where to find it, feel free to let me know.

Thanks.

a pattern for cutting this out?  Or can advise me how to make it a pattern with a Mac and Print Shop, perhaps?  I know there's some wonderful folks who know how to do it otherwise, but I hated to be a pest.  Many thanks for any info.

Am confused by the some of the wording in the instructions.  Could some of the typos be corrected, please?  Thank you.

Took these items to our little local vendor shop last month in hopes of some holiday sales.
Some of these are Steve's patterns.  I'm not sure of the others, but if anyone knows, be sure to clue me in...thanks!

A few crosses, some cherry, some oak, one aspen and one mahogany

Saved

Resurrection Cross painted in gold and white (did one of cedar last year).

The Lord is my Shepherd, all in red oak.

Christ Cross also in red oak.

Hey, Marmoh,

You doing alright down South?  Looks like that part of the country is catching it this evening.  Or anyone else out that way, let us know you're okay.

...seems to be selling, at least in my little hick town.  :P

Awhile back Steve posted a pattern in his woodworking catalogue and it made me chuckle so I made one:

The little sign sold in a few days at a local craft store that I have a display as a vendor. That was earlier this summer.  I made another one about 2 weeks ago to find that it has sold also, AND the buyer wants SIX! more.  So, 3 guesses where I'm going to be for awhile.  :)

So, just a head's up to those who are looking for something to make and sell at their next craft show; maybe you will find it a popular item, too.

Thanks, Steve!

Anybody have an update?

One of Steve's clock patterns:
http://www.stevedgood.com/minifretclock.pdf

reminded me of a little church so I made some alterations to the top; sprayed the building part with a textured paint that resembles adobe, and added a bell to come up with this:

Thought it made for an interesting variation on the original pattern.
