Looking at Steve's new pattern today with the Christmas card puzzle, made me think that you could also use just about any pretty Christmas card top to make into puzzle-many are the size of the puzzle template.

Thank you, KCSteve.

Yes, you gave me a little better picture to go on.

Some illustrations with the pattern when it was presented would have been helpful to those of us who need visual aids, which, usually Mr. Good will do now and then.  But I think I have it.

And yes, 3M Super 77 is good stuff.

The recently posted patterns of cat and dog picture frames left me confused, as I'm not good at construction.  ???

I understand the main pattern of the frame cut out with picture of animal, and them I'm guessing the photo mount board goes behind that to hold picture in place-with what-glue?  Wouldn't that make it permanent and you couldn't change or replace picture?

Then the 2 figures on the following page are some sort of brace or stand parts?  That go where, how?

Being blonde, I need a little more information to put this all together.  I'm sure everyone else gets this but me, so I hope someone doesn't mind giving me a few more details, thanks.

What do you mean "went through"?  What happened to the blades?

They kept breaking in two about an inch from the bottom clamp.  The upper clamp didn't want to hang on to them, either.

The 5 R's worked fine...no issues on same project, so I was thinking it was a bad batch of 3's.

Yes, it must be something "going around".

I am working with some Flying Dutchman #3 Reverse blades, cutting thinner stock, because it's usually very smooth and easy.

Nope, not this time-went through about half a dozen blades in about an hour.

Sigh.

Sometimes we're jawing and sometimes we're sawing.  That was good!
This week it's been sawing.

I made the hot pot stand from July 30th - https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2020/07/hot-dishpot-holder-and-stir-paddle.html
Didn't bother with the companion stir paddle.

Came out so well I made 3 more sets for Christmas presents.  They're not hard to do, easy to ship, and useful.  But they are a bit tedious - there are 25 cuts / piece, two pieces / set so that was 150 cuts, each with a hole to drill and the blade to feed through.

I have plans to make these too, with a variation.  One of the sides will have the flower pattern and the other will have initials of the recipient.  That way I only cut 75 cuts  :)   We'll see how that turns out.   ???

Amen!  Please know that you are in my prayers, Steve.

I look at your site daily and feel like I know you like a good neighbor.

Thank you for all you do.

Oh, that's sad.  Yes, true.  It has undone a lot of shows.

The little town that put this on cancelled its usual Memorial Day weekend one and July 4 weekend show.  Was happy to see the Labor Day weekend show happen.  Only about 20 vendors set up-usually 3 times that many.   :(

The local casino usually has one near Thanksgiving...fingers crossed.   ???

...at my recent craft show event.

I set up this past recent Labor Day weekend in a little town known for a large tourist presence and saw lots of customers-though due to the heat (100 degrees) and virus fears, not as well attended as in past events.   It's always a mystery as to what will sell.  Some projects you think are terrific get little attention and something you thought insignificant will go immediately.  All titles are how they are found in free catalogue should you want to see what they are.

Anticipating upcoming holiday of Halloween, I turned out several of those themed events-the Pumpkin Lights and Halloween Ghost Tea Light Holder.  No takers.  Only one of the Halloween Boos sold (ghost with "I'm just here for the boos").

Also on display were a few Christmas items: Reindeer Sleigh, Winter Christmas Scene and Christmas Box, but no one appeared ready to buy for Christmas.

Probably biggest sellers were spiritual designs-Five Religious Word Art patterns (have custom order to make 4 more) , Jesus Loves Me plaque, The Lord is My Strength, All the Glory to God Cross, and Layered Cross Plaque.

Had 20 Switch Plate Toppers and sold 6.

Butterfly Tray Puzzle was a hit, and I should have made more-note to self-puzzles are always popular.

Dog Hair Sign, Race Car Tray, Fish Come in 3 Sizes, Cowboy Welcome Sign, Countertop Wine Rack, Silly Signs (have order for more) were winners but my baskets-Stacked Ring Basket and Basket with Ribbon were not.

As you see, I like to make a variety of things, usually just one or two of each to see what is popular, and granted, price and skill level are factors, I'm sure, but I was happy that about half of my inventory went so I can go make some more!  ;D

Anybody else have a report?  ;)

Sorry, Linda...just now saw your post.

Am having a hard time understanding "puzzle box" (apologies, am blonde).

Is there a picture you could post or a link to what you are trying to make?

Hi, HI! (HockeyIowa)  ;)

Two suggestions that I currently have which may be a little advanced for baby and better for toddler, but that means plenty of time to work on them.

One is a very unique puzzle-I think I found it on this website:    http://www.lowbot.co.uk/resources/Ark-Patterns1.pdf

And the other is a book that you can cut out any of the characters, some are like small puzzles.  Here is a link:

Congrats and good luck with Noah!
