Mamell- nice design and thanks for showing your stand.  today we talk in terms of recycling and your stand has certainly met the "going green" trend.  Plus you don't have that inventory of lumber taking up space. you get 3 thumbs up in my book.  Cheers Brian

I'll second the flat end blades - a lot less breakage for me.  Fordy- you might e-mail Sue Mey. She also lives in South Africa and might have some suggestions on blade suppliers in your part of the world.  Cheers Brian

Cathy - I have found not trying to make tight turns or even cutting a corner from to direction helps eliminate breakage . A sacrifice sheet on the bottom helps as does a zero clearance hole for the blade - like a playing card taped to the table top. Now you have more ideas for the nest project. Cheers. Brian

Found this old pattern and thought it would be fun particularly since I have an assortment of ball caps. It's 3/4" popular with minwax golden oak stain. It holds 5 caps - I really should make about 3 more. :) I do want you other Baseball followers to take special note of the cap pictured. I moved from outside Chicago 22 years ago but I'm still a fair weathered Cubby fan. Hope springs eternal. As a side note, I worried about cutting with only 21" deep on my Hawk and never thought about having to stand away from saw table so far that I could hardly see the lines of reach the controls (30" or 76.2cm).  Thanks for looking  Cheers Brian

Karl - this is probable more than you asked for but others may need more info. 1) Just the jig fixture with test board. 2) Router at start position held firm to the bottom & left wall of the jig - plunge down. 3) With bit locked down to desired depth ride the left jig wall to the top of the jig.  4) With the bit still locked down move the router right to the right hand stop.  For those who haven't used a plunge router & key hole bit, you must back up to the start position before turning the router off and allow the bit to come up through the original larger hole. Hope this helps  Cheers Becker

Jim - I used a regular keyhole router bit in a plunge router with a home made router template.

Just finished one of Steve's Patterns for my brother-in-law.  He like to catch & release - I, on the other hand, like to filet. He and my sister like to RV and they take their two dogs along.  So i mounted Steve' design on a cedar board and made two "gang hooks" to hold the dog leashes. I've included a view of the back to show the mounting detail for RV  motion.  Thanks for looking.  Cheers  Brian

DW  I really like the B/BB for the sides - for whatever your reason.  I think the ply layers have added realism to the little fellow. Particular the cheeks.
Thank for the look see.  Cheers Brian

Thanks Dave. In your case you're far enough away - you can raise all the stink you want.  8)
