Wow Steve - you are correct this project is beyond the skill level of any project that I recall seeing on the blog. I have built an octagon shaped box - with much frustration. It sits in my shop as a unique item - not a piece of beauty in the house. I did not have an electronic angle gauge and the accuracy of the measurement of 1/2 degree on the average plastic protractor is suspect.
