Title: Rift Sawn Redwood
Post by: GLC on November 26, 2018, 11:10:07 am
I recently cut a piece of rift sawn Redwood, which was 1/2" thick using Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse #5 and #3 blades.  I chose this wood for the straight grain that is presented there.  I was quite surprised at how hard this was to cut, dulling blades very fast.  I was wondering if scrolling thru the rift cut vs normal cut Redwood was what created this difficulty.  Does anyone have experience cutting this wood and was your experience like mine?  Perhaps the wood that I was using was really Petrified Rift Cut Redwood.
