More Customers Name Plates
« on: November 12, 2011, 10:39:21 am »
These are made out of Australian Pine and of course I used the wood Conditioner before the wood stain went on them and applyed several coats of polly and now they are cured and ready for delivery . I have so much cut up that as they are finished I try to show them - I have so much cut and ready for finishing it's unreal ....The Richard Burns one is the way the customer wanted it cut -a new way of displaying for me .......MB

Nicely done.  What wood conditioner have you found that works well on pine?  I use shellac.

Really like these name plates.

How do you apply the poly?

I just made a couple out of cherry and now need to finish?

Thanks

I sprayed it on with high Gloss Min-Wax brand Polly, now it took probably 6 or 8 coats . For I put real light coats on them to build the shine up ...I sanded them with 320 grit sandpaper before I started applying the finish coats ....MB
