Lamination saved the day.
« on: January 10, 2014, 12:53:56 pm »
You may remember my asking for assistance on this project.

Customer wanted me to make a desk name plate for his sister which contained both her children's' names on one plaque. It seemed like an easy request since the names with the exception of one letter in both names was a mirror image of the others name.
By inserting a heart shape and overlaying the different letters which dd not correspond with the mirror image this is what i came up with.

I use mahogany with a black walnut lamination to divide the names and give the appearance they were stand alone names, and then used the black walnut as a contrasting color for the applique of the letters D and Y.
Hope the customer likes it as much as I do.
First is a top view showing the lamination.
2nd Is Adam
3rd is mirror image for Maya.

That's a good solution you found there.
But I think that's problaby the only couple of kids on the whole world where you can do this trick.
So you were a little lucky.  ;)

Nevertheless, it's a nice job you did there.
My compliments.
