I'm looking for a font.  I gave it a go at several font sites but not knowing what it is called my search has been futile.

Computer questions / Help with my pdf viewer.
« on: July 28, 2011, 07:45:53 pm »
GB I think it was suggested i download a different pdf viewer to replace adobe.  I think it is called foxit.

My problem is every time I open a pdf file such as one of Steve's new patterns and want to save it the viewer renames the file with a bunch of erroneous numbers and letters.  How do i override this feature so it maintains a file name?

Thanks for any help.

Gb,
How do I get foxit to become my pdf default viewer instead of adobe?  Do you think it would be okay to just get rid of adobe?

General Scroll Saw Talk / Updated info on e-mail Rug Buddies.
« on: April 07, 2011, 12:54:15 pm »
Recently Steve was kind enough to send us a booklet with the "Rug Buddies" in it.  This is a great PDF of some whimsical toys.  I read his blog entry and double checked it.  It says use standard 2x4 for making these.  However that is an error.  If you print out the rug buddies they require 2x6 unless you re-size the toys to be smaller.

I contacted John ( actually Cynthia replied as John was out) at toy press to make certain of this and he confirms those toys do require 2x6 not 2x4.

Just thought you would like to know before you pick up a couple of 2x4's.  I'm making some today.

Ask Steve a question. / Key chain suggestion.
« on: March 29, 2011, 02:37:31 pm »
Steve I know how busy you are all the time.  We all appreciate everything you do I have a suggestion for you.

Regarding your dog bone and your oval keychain maker programs.

Could you possibly make the dog bone key chain so we can use the font from the oval key chain maker?  I have a local vet who has had several customers ask for that variation.  I'm able to do it by making a template of the ends of the dog bone and then printing out the oval and superimposing the dog bone ends, but that si quite time consuming.  This makes the center of the dog bone keychain much more durable, and quite frankly much faster to cut out in that font.

Thanks for your consideration of this suggestion.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Excalibur saw stand question.
« on: March 03, 2011, 06:45:06 pm »
Of those who have the scroll saw stand for their EX saws. How tall from the ground/floor to the top of the stand can you make the stand?

I'm in hopes about 36"s.

The reason I am asking. I'm used to having my scroll saw attached to my work bench with the rear of the saw raised. My new saw when I raised the back end and did not support the rear legs enough, vibrated too much. So I spent the better part of the day rearranging my work area to accommodate the Seyco stand and it is en-route. I'm just curious if I will have to build leg extenders for the stand as I'm 6' 3" tall and use a nice stool to sit and I don't want the saw too low.

Thanks for any feedback. I was told by ray that I can raise the rear legs with the levelers so I can still tilt my saw.

BTW  I really like my new saw.  My first project on my new saw.

Computer questions / What has happened to the site?
« on: February 19, 2011, 09:50:09 pm »
When i logged in a few minutes ago I noticed there is a new look to the site.
There is about a 3" gray border on the left and right side of the forum now.
I did not change anything as far as setting s go and the font size is minuscule.  What happened. Nothing else is wonky on the net for me just here.

General Scroll Saw Talk / I did it...I did It...

My new ex21 will ship tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I'm going to give their platinum blade a try as well. I did not get the stand as i do not have the room for another floor tool in my shop. I did get the magnifying lamp though.

Now I'll be pacing for a week waiting for it's arrival.

Computer questions / Do you think this is a safe site?
« on: January 22, 2011, 11:50:51 am »
It says it's legit but then we know not everything we read we should believe.
It has a download that has an .exe.  So I stopped right there

I read their privacy policy and terms pages.  Not sure what some of it means when they refer to installing advertisements etc.

Would someone be able to come up with something for me that will fit on a cedar board 6.5" x 11".

Success is the Best Revenge

This is for a friend who just got a really great promotion.

She lives near a beach and really likes 3 palm trees & Ocean stuff for some reason. Not too intricate.

If you can do it that would be super!

Thanks!

Grampa I already sent you a PM...Looking for alternative choices too.
