Title: Girls Toys
Post by: Dan on July 27, 2010, 11:34:36 am
I am looking for patterns suitable, for girls. Looking for simple toys that would make good presents for Christmas, stockings ect.

There seems to be lots of patterns for boys, but not for girls.

My Scroll saw club has work days and we make toys for giving.

Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan,
Check this link, there is a nice little Angle teddy bear and some small puzzles, maybe you find something you like. If I come across something else I will let you know.http://fssp-arpop.blogspot.com/search/label/Kid%20Stuff

Hi Dan
Another link. Something like the Jacob's Ladder both boys and girls love. Maybe you can resize some of the dolly stuff to fit a stocking.

No problem, some other day you guys will help me out again. That's what so nice about this forum being able to give help but also receiving it when you need it. I want to attempt the jacobs ladder myself soon.

Hi Dan,

I made a climbing bear for my daughter.
http://www.shopsmithhandson.com/archives/nov_dec_02/html/moneymakerproj/mmp2.htm
quit simple to make, but a lot of palying hours.
make youre angle's good, and use some rough rope.
I used nylon rope and you had to pull both ropes down to avoid the bear from falling.

u can use this Idea an make youre own angels, snowman, santa, elves, reindeer........

just hang one by the entrance and even grownups can't resist  :o

another tip: I do an image search on google an look for "amish wooden toys" ideas enough ;)
just have to make make your own patterns..... 8)

Try doll house furniture. It also a good way to use scrap wood.
