Steve's Patterns Front Page
« on: July 16, 2010, 08:23:10 pm »
Since the software didn't work, Steve had said he was going to change his pattern pdf files so that the first page had a picture of the project on the front.  Anyone know if he's done this yet?

Thanks!

Yes he has Janet. I get his daily (mostly every day) and all the latest patterns he's sent all have a picture of the pattern on the front page.

Hi Janet, as far as I can see he has not (yet) changed the older patterns. I just checked Steve's cataloge on his blogpage.
Have a nice day.

May I chime in here, I have two laptop computers (gift to me by No1 son) the one I'm at the moment has "Vista Basic " and the first page of the PDF's don,t show up, but on the other compter I have "Vista Home Premium".

The Premium was easy to set up for the first page but the basic I can not set up at all.
Any help on this matter please.

I wouldn't think your Windows version has anything to do with how the PDF file works.

True Janet, but it might have something to do with how it displays the thumbnails for the files and it is the thumbnail that gives you the picture of the first page.  Personally, when I downloaded one of Steve's patterns I just deleted the first page because he always had a photo of the project on the 2nd page.

If you deleted the first page, then you must have the full blown version of the program.  Most of us just have the reader.

Guess you got me there.  I do have the full version.  Never realized the reader wouldn't allow page deletions.

Yeah right, but full version or not one computer I can see the preview the other computer I can't.
So I stand by my earlier thread "Home Basic agin Home Premium".
Has to have something to do with it, oh well I think I will stick to scrolling, but then I not that flash with that either.

Merlin,
Do you have the "view" on each computer set to thumbnails?  If one is on thumbnail and the other is on icons, that would cause the problem.  Just a guess.

I was thinking the same thing BilltheDiver... but I couldn't put it in words for some reason.  Slow this week I guess.
