I don't know about other cities but in the St. Louis Metro area it seems like EVERYONE has a Sears/Craftsman Scroll Saw for sale!

Sheesh!  The only thing I saw on the Tucson Craig's List was one Craftsman scrollsaw for $20.

Eclipsescroller....here in the St. Louis area there are 9 new posts for various Craftsman saws since July 1st!
Most look like they have been sitting in a garage or barn for several years!

For $20 I'd buy one.  I'd keep it setup for just cutting the wood down to the sizes I want to use... instead of my dewalt doing it.

I'm kinda scared of craigslist.  Could be some psycho selling it with a pit in his basement with a basket with lotion.

Untrusting, aren't i?

I have been using that Craftsman saaw for nearly 3 years. Lots of hours on it. Except for the on/off switch going bad, not one problem with it. Great entry-level saw. When it goes out, I will most likely move up to a Dewalt.

i started out with a craftsman a few yrs ago, it was a great saw. then when the bolt sheared off on the bottom arm, it was time for me to upgrade. i now own a dewalt, and have fixed my old craftsman and my sons are now learning how to scroll on it.

When I decided I wanted to start scrolling, I bought a few tools on craigs list. I had good luck with it. You have to know what you are looking for. The tools I got where not the best, but it got me started. I eventually replaced them with better grade tools.

What's up with the pit and lotion? I get the pit, but not the lotion. Flash...Wierdo holds woman hostage for 9 years in pit, but her skin was as soft as a baby's butt. Yes you are right. Don't answer Craigslist ads without a bodyguard.
