Surprised that I've never heard of E-6000 (unless it goes by another name) but I think I'll give it a try.

Glass resists most glue - I have good luck with Goop.  I will try the E6000 too.  Thanks for all the great comments.

This is one handy link to bookmark.  When trying to decide what glue to use for different mediums.  It is simple to use.  Give it a try.
