For a beginner at scrollsawing what magazine is the best as we dont have very many here in Scotland and any supplyer

Along with ScrollSaw Woodworking and Crafts I would add "Creative Woodworks & Crafts". These two are my favorite Scroll Saw Magazines.

Know the problem your having Bow. A friend of mine goes to Amsterdam quite often then gets me the woodworkersartsancrafts magazine at the American bookstore. Nice magazine.  Thanks Dunk for the other link, looks like a great mag too.

Those are the 2 mags that I get.  Both are really good...I always find something to do when both arrive in the mail box.

These magazines are easy to get in NZ but the cost of frieght and exchange rate make them very expensive,

How would it be if someone in the US subscribed for you and then forwarded the mags to you?

May take a few extra days but would sure seem to lower the cost to you....

Thanks Gray have shown the costs on down under and I dout if you could do it cheaper, I thank you very much for the offer but it is about exchange rate and postage, I will probably subscribe  the mag. a bit later on

I think that's why some of the magazines are now putting the issues on the internet each month as a electronic issue. Wood magazine does that. Maybe because of the cost as you have experienced the scroller mags may do that in the future. Ask the editor. You could print out what you wanted, but still get to read the articles. Not as nice as the paper copy, but better than nothing. Of course you still have to subscribe.

Buying direct from the publisher is a lot cheaper, for exaple I used to get engish woodturner and for each copy it cost NZ$10-50 from a magazine shop they were NZ$18-00

Hi both magazines would cost arround ?4.50 which is not to bad your average weekly mag is around ?3 and you could learn all about the stars what they have for breakfast and such like lol

I've tried the mags... I don't care for them.  This forum is all I need.   ;D
