General Scroll Saw Talk / Help on items
« on: January 25, 2011, 11:45:56 am »
We have a small store opened up in my area and have a chance to put stuff in it.The problem is items have to be fairly low priced and they mark them up 50%. My cost should be from $1. to $15. max. Any ideas for me what to make that I could sell to them in my price range that sell good? Thanks for any help.

Most saws have front to back movement. On some you can adjust them and some you can't DeWalt you can't. On the excalibur as told to me by Ray Seco their US rep it is impossible to have 0 front to back movement. You can adjust it has very little and so that it doesn't affect any cuts and very little movement.

As mentioned above formica is the way to go.I have used it for about 15 years and works great. Just put it on with double stick tape and if ever need to change it lift it off and replace with new piece. Never have to worry about rust or sliding problems.

You can call Seyco if even you didn't buy the saw from him. He is the US rep for Excalibur and the factory will refer you to him.

You can adjust the lift arm tension by the screw on the left back side that has a nut on it. Loose nut and turn screw out to you have the arm tension you want and then tighten nut back up.

Back to front will not be straight as most saws the blade doesn't travel up and down in a perfect line. The blade moves on somewhat of an arc. Most important is side to side. On very few saws can you adjust front to back movement.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Flocking
« on: October 05, 2010, 12:47:24 pm »
I have a project that I want to put in a frame and use flocking as the back round has some shapes. Not being good with colors I was wondering if you could give me some idea of color to use as a back round. The wood is going to be ash finished natural which will be a medium brown.I don't have a photo to submit as project is not cut yet, just getting everything together. Thanks for any help.
