Title: Oval key chain question.

Steve can you show me how to turn the letters in this keychain so they run the length of the oval from the key hole to the end.  I have had 2 customers ask me to turn the letters 90 degrees.  They use them for their kids back packs.  I can't figure out how to do it.

It's called "cut & paste" only on this one, you use real sissors and real paste.

Personally, I would print it out, cut each letter (as a square of course) and lay it face down on a strip of scotch tape end to end and then paste (spray glue in this case) to the wood. After cutting the letters, center the oval from a second copy over the letters and cut the outside shape including the hole for the chain.

Just my two centovos.

I copy the keychain to coreldraw and than convert it to a curve (ctrl-q)
or type text with the mychain font.
then remove the left chain hole.
make a circle and double it with your interactive tool and than past them together.
no paper and scissors needed. 8)

You can 'stack' letters using the "Word Art" option in MS Word 2003 and later.

Open a 'new document'
Click on the 'word art' tool in the 'word art' toolbar (slanted "A" at the very beginning of the toolbar)
When it opens go to the top right corner and click
Select the Font and Size you wish to use
Enter the 'initials' or name you wish to have
Type in the information
click on OK and the information should be displayed in your 'document'

You can play around with the Font and Size by 'double clicking' on the type and re-opening the Word Art window

When you have it the way you want just click on the little printer in the toolbar and out it comes!

Hi Dunk, I just tried something in GIMP and you van make your name and an blank keychain.
just put them over each other and cut of the side you like.

GIMP is free and with some practice it might do the job.
