What do you all use for the hardware on your keychains.  I've used the chain and split rings as well as some of the snake line keychain.  The snake line is expensive but does make a nice addition to the finished keychain.

Does anyone have any good places for bulk buying at reasonable prices?

Thanks in advance.

Don I've had the pleasure of making many key chains using Steve's programs.  And I love giving them to friends and relatives.

Don, I'll be interested in seeing your comparisons between the blades.  I've been using the UR blades for some time now and like them.  And I do have quite a few blades of various sizes that I probably will ever never use.

I bought a roll at our local Walmart last week.  Haven't used it yet but will on my next project.  They had quite a bit of both sizes.

Today was the 1st time I had a chance to look my saw over and I don't find any bend in the top arm.

I made one of those as well.  It was interesting to see who could figure out how I got the golf ball inside the piece.  Some people actually did.

Pattern Requests. / Re: Feather Earrings
« on: March 20, 2016, 06:54:27 pm »
Sawdust thanks for the reply.  I did order some earring templates from Wooden Teddy Bear.  They had some nice earrings but no feathers.  And the ones I ordered were designed by Sue Mey.

Don thanks for the reply. I wasn't familiar with the Scroll Bench catalog but it sure looks like a keeper.  I've already found some useful templates to work on.

And another thing that I did was order some feather templates from Shiela Landry.  They were much larger then I would use for an earring so I just played with the size so that worked out quite well.  And by the way I called Shiela directly to order and we had a nice conversation.  And she has some nice templates to purchase.

Pattern Requests. / Feather Earrings

Hi All.  I have been asked by a friend if I could make her a pair of earrings in the shape of a feather.  Anyone have anything that would resemble a feather and would like to share with me?

Thanks a bunch,  Al

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: 1/8" wood
« on: September 14, 2015, 11:56:00 am »
Well, strange but good thing happened this morning.  I needed a piece of 5/4 red oak for a mantel I'm making and as I was checking out from my local hardware guy I noticed some very thin wood leaning against the wall.  What size I asked and he said a skinny 1/8".  Do you have any 1/8" I ask and he took me in the back and I saw a shelf full of 1/8" wood approx. 5"Wx 18" long +/-.  Price .50 per piece.  I grabbed 5 pieces and he said just take them, no charge.

Thanks to all for their response's

That's how I thought I would have to do it.  And I've done it before but never to 1/8".  And even if I could get the plywood that thin I don't think that I would use it for jewerly.  Thanks for the reply.

General Scroll Saw Talk / 1/8" wood
« on: September 13, 2015, 01:00:45 pm »
I'm considering making some Christmas ornament earings that Steve posting on his blog a while back.  The wood used was 1/8" thick.  In general what do you guys and gals do to get the 1/8" thickness.  Buy it somewhere or band saw?

Thanks, Al

Good video Russ.  I wish I saw this tip a week ago because I just bought 6 rolls of painters tape. O'well

I'm definitely going to try this.
