My wife works at a school. She showed the art teacher some of my work and some of the intarsia projects. He was pretty impressed, especially when he found out I have only been working on a scroll saw for less than 3 years. Then came the good news. He also works on a scroll saw and has a shop at his house. Recently a friend of his offered to give him an almost new scroll saw. She does not know what kind, only that it is worth about $600. He told her he will get it and sell it to her for $20. He was looking for more, but he knows I am unemployed and he loved my work. So soon....I will have a new scroll saw. I couldn't believe it.
I have an update to this. Today he told my wife that he is giving it to me free. I should have it in about a week from now. He is also interested in meeting me and maybe getting together for some work on a project or two.

Troy, I'm so happy for you--It goes to show you and everyone else that there are still nice people in this world--probably we should listen to the "news" less--enjoy your new saw and let us know what make it is--best regards Richard

That is good news. Yep, the world is full of good people. Good people just don't get the headlines.

Very happy for you. Like was said above, they're out there.

Great Troy!!
when you get things you don't expect that's a extra blessing ;)
-
Congratulations, Troy!
Glad to hear you are getting a good break and, if you don't find employment soon,
maybe you can turn out some projects on the new saw to sell for a few extra bucks.
God Bless! Spirithorse

Thanks. I am actually working on selling a few things now and then. I have a cross I make that sells well. I am also working on getting a certification in A+ for computer technician work. The City of Phoenix is paying for that with a grant. That should help me find suitable work. The new saw is a blessing and I can't wait to see it.

Just goes to show, you don't know where your next blessing will come from. Good luck and keep up the fine work.

Troy, Can we have an update? Did you get the saw and if so what is it?
-
Hey Troy, Did you get your saw yet? What kind is it? Hope the guy was true to his word. \

Yes, I got it. Sorry not to reply so fast. I have been crazy busy lately.
It is a pretty nice saw, not sure the brand, but I think it is a single speed older version of the one I am using already. I am using it as a back up with a different blade. So if I need to cut something fast and dont want to change blades I just go to it.
Thanks all for asking.
