BEST PROGRAM TO REPLACE MS WORD (WORD NOT WORKS)

(1/2) > >>

spirithorse:
Finally gave up and bought a PC to up-grade. Now I don't have my old stand-by, MS WORDPAD, to copy, paste, and print documents. What is the best replacement for MS WordPad that doesn't cost a fortune. Hopefully free.
God Bless! Spirithorse

DWSudekum:
Try OpenOffice.org.  They have made a completely free Microsoft compatible office package.

I agree with DW.  Been using it for several years, but keep in mind I do not do anything real complicated.

spirithorse:
Thanks, DW,
I did download Open Office before requesting help because I used it for some college courses but, for some reason,
it will not allow me to cut, paste, and print anywhere at all from within the program.
Maybe you can give me some suggestions or I can give you more specifics in personal messages as I try things out
so as not to waste space here on the forum.
I promise not to keep you occupied with it for too long and won't become your new pet project!
If that's okay, my contact is spirithorse55 at Hotmail dot com
God Bless! Spirithorse

DWSudekum:
No problem.  Use CRTL C to copy, CRTL X to cut, CRTL V to paste.  If that does not work get back with me.
